Saturdays: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Culver Fortna, Director of Student Services

DSO

Phone: 571-633-9651 X451

FAX: 703-890-3372

Email: culver.fortna@uona.edu

Culver is a native Northern Virginian with over 20 years of experience in international education. He earned his MA in Contemporary Sociology at Lancaster University, England, and TESOL Certification in Multicultural Education at George Mason University. His travels have led him through Western Europe and deep into Eastern Asia.

As Director of Student Services/DSO, Culver’s primary role is to provide positive support to all students, whether international or domestic, and facilitate communications between students, faculty, and staff. Student Services provides counseling and career services for students; designing guidelines and programs for a dynamically growing community.

Student Services also supports the Academic department and the International Student Office to verify records and help students maintain academic and international status.

In the future, Culver would like to be more active developing student clubs and activities: a UoNA Chess Team and Soccer Club are on the horizon.

Linda received her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Columbia College in Missouri and Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Central Missouri. Grew up in tropical Taiwan, Linda enjoyed her student life in the US and took on the opportunity to stay here after graduation.

She settled in the Northern Virginia area and has done a great job balancing career and family life. When she is not busy working on campus, her biggest enjoyment is to engage in outdoor activities with her three young children.
