Please be advised that the University of North America's administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in observance of Veteran's Day.
This Wednesday, November 11, is Veterans Day, a holiday that honors all who have served in the United States Armed Forces (not to be confused with Memorial Day, which is a remembrance of the men and women who died while in service).
November 11 was originally a commemoration of the anniversary of the end of World War I known as Armistice Day. While Armistice Day is still observed in many countries, Congress expanded the US holiday in 1954 to celebrate all veterans, not just those who died in the First World War, and in the process changed the name to Veterans Day.
Local Veterans Day observances consisting of parades, ceremonies, military exhibits, and tributes to distinguished veterans are held across the country on November 11, while a national ceremony is held at Arlington National Cemetery on this date each year.
UoNA will be closed on Veterans Day. Be sure to take a moment to thank veterans for their service to our country.
