The University of North America gives a warm welcome to Dr. John Hough, who starts this month as the Vice President of Academics and Outreach.
In this capacity Dr. Hough will be providing the vision to advance the educational values, goals and mission of the University with a defined focus as an applied learning university. He will also oversee and assist in planning new programs and operate existing programs efficiently and effectively according to established university policies and procedures.
Dr. Hough brings extensive educational administrative experience to this newly created position. He was a a member of Marshall University's College of Education faculty and served as their Associate Dean of Academics prior to taking a position with the West Virginia Department of Education as Executive Assistant to the State Superintendent of Schools. His most recent appointment was Vice President of Community Relations with American Public University Systems. Dr. Hough has also worked as a public school teacher, counselor and community college administrator.
Dr. Hough has a bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa, master's degree from Emporia State University and holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Oklahoma State University.
He is excited about coming on board with UoNA and looks forward to getting acquainted with the faculty to work collaboratively in advancing the educational value of UoNA.
